This is my 11th season with Special Gifts Theatre and their 25th Anniversary. I first found SGT when I was a sophomore in high school. I needed volunteer hours and SGT was one of the amazing and fun options. I still remember the production was Willy Wonka (and still have my shirt from back then) and my buddy was Brian. He was a sweet shy boy with Down Syndrome. Years later when I was looking for volunteer opportunities I reached out again and they were just expanding to 2 new locations, Palatine and Chicago. I started as a volunteer and am now Technical Production Project Manager for all programs. I love combining my creative project management skills with helping out this amazing community of people who love theatre. This year it feels like everything has come full circle as the adult program COL is putting on a production of Willy Wonka again. I'm excited to have an other amazing season.
